Needless to say, Im less impressed than the other two posters. Straight out of the box, it took me half and hour to clean off all the oil covering the saw. I wasnt in the market for a new saw until some POS decided to enter my garage and steal my DeWalt DW713 which was an alright, but basic miter saw. I decided to purchase the Jet since it came with all the necessary accessories.
However first off I had to remove the table insert so I could adjust the table bolt. As it was it took two men and a small boy to turn the table. After I adjusted the bolt, the table turned as it should. This should have been adjusted at the factory. The minute you get the saw, find the nearest dumpster and pitch in the 5-cent dust bag. I realize no dust bag is great, but this is the cheapest and crappiest dust bag on the planet. My god! Jet, spend 25-cents for a better constructed bag. A $300 saw with a 5-cent dust bag. GOOD GRIEF!. One other shortcoming with this saw is the "plastic" stop lock lever that goes into "metal" miter detents. How long before it wears down and the miter stops are no longer accurate? This saw does not have a trigger lock. The minute you depress the trigger the saw starts. Not safe if you have small children around. You have to unplug the saw to make sure its safe. I havent decided whether to keep it or go for a different brand or a better saw. With the "plastic" stop lock lever I dont recommend this saw for someone that needs to make their living with it. I dont think it will last. Another down side "MADE IN CHINA"
