This stack-on workbench arrived un-damaged. It was pretty straightforward to assemble (It does require a power drill with a 1/8" bit) and was what I was expecting from a $200 work bench... Until, that is, I took a stroll through the tool isles at Sears and found that they sell a Craftsman 96" maple butcher-block top workbench that is way sturdier for $229! Suffice it to say, I have some buyers remorse...But, competition not withstanding, this is an adequate work bench. It doesn't offer as much counter overhang as I'd liek to be able to clamp stock to it for cutting or drilling but there's usually a workaround. Another thing that was disappointing was that the MDF top has a groove on one edge that a metal edge protector fits into. My primary attraction to this bench was that I could be rough on the surface and then easily replace it with a new MDF top from a local lumber yard or even Home Depot and not worry about it. Now it turns out that I have to also carefully router the edge to make it fit.
I'm deducting one star for value (check out that Craftsman bench) and another star for extra steps to replace the top.
