Jet - JJ-8HH; 8-inch Helical Head Jointer Review

I gave the jointer only 4 stars because the base came damaged (the top right front corner was dented in and the paint was chipped off). As this did not affect the performance I was not worried. Once I set up the unit and started jointing my first board the pulleys were slipping and upon inspection the two bolts that hold the pulley housing were missing. I did call customer service and they sent them right out and I had them in two days.

Once all was set I can say the unit performs wonderfully: I have jointed around 50 board feet of 8" birds eye maple and 28 ft of cherry for a project I am working on. The finish is very smooth and there is no bogging down on the motor. Since I use a hand plane for final smoothing I do not worry about the very small jointer marks left and the ones from this machine are not very noticeable at all.

Overall a great machine and highly recommended.
