Even after reading the earlier review, I went ahead and bought one. Why? We had bought one before and had a contractor install it. And, guess what. He made the opening too narrow and had to special order a narrower piece of glass for one side. But, I figured I could make the opening exactly 58 1/8" since I was doing the tub to shower conversion myself, and I am good at remodeling. Well, not that good. Ended up 3/8" too narrow. Had to cut 1/2" channel in tile to recess glass on most inconspicuous end. Still looks great. Wish I could do it again. I would definitely cut a board or screw a couple together to 58 1/4" and use it to hold my tiles in place after setting them. Tiles can move forward as the mortar dries. Why 58 1/4"?. Because the glass has notches at the brackets, and you can slide it in to 58 3/8" without exposing any portion of the notches. One more thing. If it turns out the opening is 58 3/8", that means you have a 1/8" gap at each end to fill with caulk. But, it will not be noticeable if you use clear silicone and door a good caulking job. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "DreamLine SHDR-21587610-01 Frameless Pivot Shower Door 58-1/8 by 76 Clear 3/8 Glass Door Chrome Finish" are high quality item.
