Product Description
Just released! Our WS5M-HC water softener is the new entry to our product line. Using a high flow - low pressure drop 1.25" valve, the softener can handle up to 35 GPM. This unit is equipped with the new Fleck 7000 valve (1.25" connections standard), and uses an integral microprocessor based control. The programmable control utilizes high efficiency regeneration to minimize salt consumption. The beige colored resin tank, manufactured by Structural, is poly lined and fiberglass reinforced. The standard softener is a "two tank" configuration with a separate poly brine tank in almond. A system by-pass valve is included along with the purchase of any unit.Metered water softener with 1.25" Fleck 7000 control, 64,000 grain capacity with by-pass valve Review
Tough ti install and the instructions are insufficient. Went on the internet and found much better instructions. The 24 hour customer service from this buyer is for real. I tested it on a Sunday when things got tough on installation.Make sure to check that ALL parts come with your unit right away and before starting installation. I was missing a part for the drain connection. For me that meant one more stop at Home Depot and a "jerry-riggrd" fitting. Also, make SURE that you remove the "O" rings from the brass fittings before soldering as they will melt otherwise.
Gt ready for some heavy lifting and ask a fried to help when it's time to fill the cylinder with the special "medium" The stuff come in 100 lb bags and tends to stick together as it pours. Filling is very slow despite to large funnel that comes with the unit. The stuff clogs the hole and requires working it in with your fingers... while holding the bag in the other hand... good work out!
If you get the 64000 grain unit, be prepared for a pretty big apparatus, and plan for the space you'll need. My unit and brine container sit separated by about a foot and take up about 31/2 ft by 2 ft of real estate in my garage.
ALSO, if you read the fine print, there is a very good suggestion that you plug the unit into a good surge protector to save it from surges and lightening. Spend a bit more and avoid the $6 strips from Walmart. Couple of buck more for a Triplite and if things go wrong, you'll save yourself at least $250 to $350 for a new softener valve unit.
Good luck.
