I bought this to replace a Luxe EB800. The soft close hinge mechanism of the seat broke a year and a half into ownership and after getting used to a soft close lid it's jarring to hear the lid slam after use because habits are hard to break. I shopped around for a replacement and did not want to tool around with remotes that used batteries and I also wanted to break away from relying on a tank limited warm water supply.
If you compare the seat hinge mechanism on this to the Luxe EB800, you will see that the hinge is a lot more solid and secure. I am hoping it will last longer than the Luxe did. It has all the perks that I wanted out of a bidet:
- warm seat
- soft close lid with a sturdy mechanism
- night light (I just wish it would only turn on when it was dark and would stay off during the day)
- tankless hot water
- no remote (all controls on the side)

The only negative I've noticed is that the seat opening seems smaller than I am used to but it's something I can live with.
