I bought this lawnmower after an extensive search revealed that nearly all new electric lawnmowers are made almost entirely out of plastic. I visited some local stores to see if plastic was as flimsy as I expected it to be, and it was. Perhaps you can get away with a plastic housing, but the almost total lack of metal in these machines is sure to cause problems given the violent nature of a fast moving blade throwing objects around underneath your mower.

So, although there were almost no reviews on this Yard Machine, I decided to take a chance on it. Bad idea. I never even got to use it once. I set it up out of the box, and quickly realized that one of the front wheels did not touch the ground. The whole body seemed to be warped, with no way to adjust for this defect. It's possible that it was simply damaged in shipping, but after looking the lawnmower over, I decided I didn't want a replacement.

The housing was metal, but there was an awful lot of plastic pieces attached to it that were already warped and didn't fit against it properly. And I am pretty worried about the cutting blade being attached to a plastic rotor.

In summary, all I got was a heavy, warped, dysfunctional lawnmower that I couldn't use and didn't want to even try. Might as well get a cheaper plastic model that may be more flimsy, but at least is lightweight and can be replaced for less.
