"Dayton" appears to be a lower grade of Elkay sink costing maybe half as much as "Elkay" sinks. Searching the Elkay web site for sinks you will not find Dayton sinks listed. But, if you use the search bar at the Elkay site you can find a complete listing of Dayton sinks and download the specs. Dayton sinks have a larger radius at the corners, providing less flat space at the bottom of the sink, and they are made of type 301 stainless steel, rather than type 304 that you find in Elkay sinks. Types 301 and 304 both have excellent corrosion resistance, but neither is rated for marine application. 301 is easier to fabricate and has slightly lower corrosion resistance than 304. Dayton sinks appear to be cheaper than Elkay sinks because they are easier to fabricate. The sink does not display the Elkay logo.We bought our sink from Amazon, not a second party. It was shipped from Phoenix. It arrived promptly. The packaging was intact, but the flange where the sink attaches to the countertop was bent, creating a minor problem during installation. No template was included, but this can be downloaded from Elkay.
The sink looks great and functions well. Dayton sinks seem like a great value compared to the more expensive Elkay models!
Oh yeah! The Amazon website has listed the model number incorrectly. It is not DXUH310210. The actual model number for the sink you buy here from Amazon is DXUH312010.
