When I moved to my new house in tx, I got this Giansteam humidifier form a local dealer. It is 200bulks more expensive than. Amazon.

I used to have several different humidifier, such as ByPass style evaporative, TrueSteam electric steam humidifier of Hoeywell, and Aprilaire humidifier. The ByPass humidifier is bad, the room humidity increased a little bit, but not enough, room was still dry. The experience of using TrueSteam is totally a nightmare, technician came a couple of times, and it cost me hundreds of bucks, the problem was still there. Then I changed it to an Aprilaire steam humidifier. Honestly, it was better product. The only expense was 60 bucks to change the canister in the next year.

When I moveded into our new house, I planned to buy another aprilaire 800. The local dealer suggested me to use the Canada GiantSteam 25 GPD humidifier and gave me a 5-year warranty. When the installation finished, I was happy to find that its canaister has the same size to Aprilaire 800, and they use the same principle, using energized electrodes to heating water in canister to produce steam for humidification. The humidifier worked completely automatically and didn't bother me at all.The installation is simple, only drill and screwdriver are needed, I can install it according to the instrustions in the manual. GiansSteam humidifier is great, I am really pleased to see it is being sold on Amazon now, highly recommended.

The antiqued look as shown in the photo is not at all what it looks like in person. There are splotches of dark brown, not gold. It looks ridiculous, like a spotted cow. And the fishing line they've used to hold the glass beads on makes the fixture look so cheap. The manufacturer didn't even take the time to snip off the 1/4 inch ends of the fishing lines where they are knotted in numerous places. What a disappointment, returning this piece of junk.
