This tool package includes an Alpha wet electric stone polisher VSP-120, a set (7 pcs) of 4" metal bond diamond polishing pads specially formulated for polishing concrete with a 4" semi-rigid back holder, a DVD on concrete countertop DIY, an heavy duty denier water proof apron with velcro strips and a 4" diamond cup wheel steel based medium grit. The 7 pcs of concrete diamond polishing pads include 50 grit, 100 grit, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 grit with color coded velcro backing. Use a diamond cup wheel to expose aggregates before polishing if you choose to expose aggregates. Medium grit cup wheel is most suitable.

The Polishing package kit included the Alpha VSP120, 7 diamond pads, velcro backer pad and a medium diamond embedded steel grinding wheel. It also came with a case, wrench for changing heads, a rubber splash shield, an apron(major bonus) and a DVD (Fu tung Cheng). We bought the kit to finish concrete countertops. We also purchased a set of diamond hand finishing pads in grades from 50 - 3000. Overall its all you'll need to finish the tops except maybe a pair of rubber boots because invariably you will get wet. The diamond grinding wheel is great for touching up the initial pour mistakes and leakages and also invaluable for installation if you need to adjust or trim the top when installing. The seven diamond/resin pads range from 50 to 3000grit. The pads cut fast so you need to practice holding the head as level as possible while moving in a consistent pattern, generally plenty of water seems to work best to help keep a smooth pattern and prevent slurry buildup. Overall a great package. The hose line and cord are fairly long and held together with a spiral wire wrap affair which can catch on the edge of a bench rather annoyingly. Simple solution is to buy a roll of electrical tape and wrap the first 3' to prevent snagging. We used a random orbital sander(ridgid) with 60grit to rough shape the edges first as it won't take too much material off then fine tune with the hand pads to finish the edges and corners. So far two countertops done with minimal wear on the pads. light pressure is all that's needed as the diamonds do the work.
