Just got this lamp the other day. I put it behind a sectional sofa to provide light for reading. It appears very well made, sturdy and heavy. It is contemporary but not overly modern, a nice balance. It's pretty tall and can fill up a corner. The finish is listed as bronze, but it is really more of a bronze steel powder coat, very smooth and clean. I specifically selected this model b/c it has a knob on the pole, so I can reach behind while sitting on the couch and turn it on. Many other models have an on/off foot switch, which is useless if you plan to hide it behind a couch. The only downside to this lamp is it does not have a dimmer. Otherwise it is pretty close to perfect (in terms of what I was looking for). I would recommend it.
